Managing Payment Methods

Once you've added payment methods, you can manage them to suit your needs.

Setting Default Payment Method

The default payment method is automatically used for:

Subscription Renewals

Automatic monthly or yearly subscription charges use the default card.

Automatic Refills

If you set up automatic wallet refills, the default card is charged.

To set a default payment method:

  1. Go to Billing & Plans → Payment Methods
  2. Find the card you want to set as default
  3. Click the Set as Default button or option for that card
  4. The card will be marked as default and used for automatic billing

Tip: Always ensure your default payment method is valid and has sufficient funds or credit limit. Expired or declined default cards can cause subscription renewal failures.

Removing Payment Methods

You can remove payment methods that are no longer needed:

  1. Go to Billing & Plans → Payment Methods
  2. Find the card you want to remove
  3. Click the Remove or Delete button (trash icon) for that card
  4. Confirm the removal when prompted

Important: If you're removing your default payment method, make sure to set another card as default first. Otherwise, subscription renewals may fail. You cannot remove a payment method if it's the only one on your account and you have an active subscription.

Updating Card Information

If your card expires or you need to update information:

  • Expired Cards: Remove the expired card and add a new one with updated expiration date
  • Card Number Changes: Remove the old card and add the new card as a separate payment method
  • Billing Address: Update billing address when adding a new card or during checkout

Note: For security reasons, you cannot directly edit saved card details. Instead, remove the old card and add a new one with updated information.

Security & Privacy

Your payment information is protected with industry-standard security measures.

Stripe Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor. Your card data never touches our servers.

Encrypted Storage

Card details are encrypted and stored securely by Stripe. Only you can see your saved payment methods in the interface.

3D Secure

Additional authentication (3D Secure) may be required by your bank for added security. This is handled automatically during checkout.

Access Control

Only you can view and manage your payment methods. Team members cannot access your payment information.

Best Practices

Payment Method Management

  • Keep Default Updated: Always ensure your default payment method is valid and not expired. Update it before expiration to prevent subscription renewal failures.
  • Multiple Cards: Store multiple cards as backups. If one card fails, you can quickly switch to another without service interruption.
  • Remove Unused Cards: Periodically review and remove expired or unused cards to keep your payment methods list clean and secure.
  • Monitor Expiration: Keep track of card expiration dates. Update cards before they expire to maintain uninterrupted service.

Security

  • Use Secure Networks: Only add or manage payment methods on secure, trusted networks. Avoid public Wi-Fi when entering card details.
  • Verify Charges: Regularly review your card statements to verify charges match your wallet refills and subscription renewals.
  • Report Issues: If you notice unauthorized charges, contact support immediately and consider removing the affected payment method.

Troubleshooting

Card declined when adding or using

Possible Causes & Solutions:

  • Insufficient funds: Check that your card has sufficient funds or available credit limit. Try a different card if needed.
  • Card expired: Verify the expiration date. If expired, remove the old card and add a new one with updated expiration.
  • Card details incorrect: Double-check card number, CVV, expiration date, and billing address. Ensure all fields match your card exactly.
  • Bank security: Your bank may have blocked the transaction for security reasons. Contact your bank to authorize the payment or verify the transaction.
  • International restrictions: Some cards have restrictions on international transactions. Contact your bank if you're using a card from a different country.
  • Try another card: If one card consistently fails, try using a different payment method to isolate the issue.
Cannot remove payment method

Possible Reasons:

  • Only payment method: If this is your only payment method and you have an active subscription, you cannot remove it. Add a replacement card first, then remove the old one.
  • Default payment method: If it's set as default, you may need to set another card as default first before removing it.
  • Pending transactions: If there are pending transactions using this card, wait for them to complete before removing.
  • Active subscription: Ensure you have at least one valid payment method if you have an active subscription that needs to renew.
Default payment method not being used

Checklist:

  • Verify default setting: Check that the card is actually marked as default in the Payment Methods list. The default card should be clearly indicated.
  • Card validity: Ensure the default card is not expired and is still valid. Expired cards cannot be used for automatic billing.
  • Manual selection: During wallet refills, you can manually select a different card even if a default is set. Check if you're manually selecting a different card.
  • Refresh page: Refresh the Payment Methods page to ensure you're seeing the current default setting.
